You are right, there are two Web 3.0 meaning two different things 😉.

The Semantic Web and, one more recent related to the notion of Web 2.0 (see for example this article about it).

I am guessing that since we had Web 1.0 and 2.0, Web 3.0 in that context felt like the natural follower too.
